Munich is the largest city in the south of Germany. Franz Josef Strauss International Airport is the second-largest airport in Germany. The airport can be reached by suburban train lines S8 from the east and S1 from the west of the city. The foremost attraction is river Isar, it flows through the city and it is generally a very green place. The enormous Englischer Garten, is a park with a boating lake and beer garden and is well worth a visit. The climatic conditions are very warm in the summer, and very cold in the winter.

The European Metropolitan Region of Munich is home to the most important biotechnology location in Germany. Some 250 life science companies, including 118 small and medium-sized enterprises. University clinics and 60 other hospitals. Elite universities like Ludwig aximilians   Universität and Technische Universität München. Helmholtz Zentrum München German Research Center for Environmental Health Hochschule Weihenstephan Triesdorf. Medicinical biological Max Planck Institutes: Biochemistry, Neurobiology and Psychiatry.

The leading Biotechnology Companies and Biopharmaceutical industries like BioM GmbH und BioM AG, Sirion Biotech GmbH, Apceth GmbH & Co.KG, NanoTemper Technologies GmbH, Imevax GmbH, Amgen GmbH, Apceth GmbH & Co.KG, Atlas Venture GmbH, Proteros Biostructures GmbH, Cellasys GmbH - R&D, Vaecgene Biotech GmbH, FEI Munich GmbH, Cinfa Biotech, microDimensions GmbH, Aurigon GmbH, Neovii Biotech GmbH, Crelux, Certara, Curacyte, Daiichi, Sankyo, Definiens, Isarna-Therapeutics, Priaxon, Santen, vivo Pharm have their marked presence in Munich. You could lose yourself for days in the Deutsches Museum or in any of a number of the other museums and galleries and there are countless beautiful churches and other buildings to explore. The Viktualien markt is Munich's most popular market for fresh food and delicatessen.
